🎣 Gold Coast Estuary Autumn-Winter Charter & Tuition Options - Taking Bookings for June & July Now.
The cooler weather is here and with this the water temps are dropping and the daylight hours are getting shorter and this triggers the estuary fish onto their spawning patterns, with this fish feed up more and become more active and spawn in the Gold Coast Broadwater/ Seaway area.
The Gold Coast Broadwater is an incredible place to fish as the area and channels are full of reef and structure and hold a huge variety of fish that we target with soft plastics such as Snapper, Bream, Spangled Emperor, Tuskfish, Flathead, Tailor, Tarpon, Trevally and much more.
The canals are also a great place to fish in Winter as fish will head up into the canals to feed up before they head out to the Broadwater to spawn, Bream, Mangrove Jacks and Trevally is the main target in these areas using surface lures, hard bodies and soft plastics.

Great to have regular client Brian back onboard today for a Gold Coast charter, we had magical Autumn weather all morning and the goal was to catch as many species as we can which is common for this time of year and overall we landed 13 different species fishing in the Broadwater & Canals using a variety of lure techniques.

Catching Big Bream on crankbaits is one of my favourite way of fishing in the canals here on the Gold Coast like this cracker caught this morning’s fishing with a client, this technique I’ve used for over 15 years has won me many big tournaments around Australia and as the temps drop this technique just gets better.

The variety of fish in the Gold Coast Broadwater currently is crazy as we caught 13 species and over 20 fish in three hours using the same lures and gear, name anywhere else in Australia you can get that!

Back on the Gold Coast today with the great fishing in the Broadwater continuing with a crazy amount of different species caught on soft plastics to start the day!

Great to be back on the water today after a short break with a busy May coming up, today was a little different as I did a Newport canal charter for local anglers Hunter & Dave, with Redcliffe Peninsula to rough today the boys wanted to learn how to fish the canals with lures and the area was on fire with over 25 fish caught using surface lures, hard bodies and soft plastics.
