SEQ Sportfishing Estuary and Dam Charters Fishing Report 5th – 15th January.
Its been a busy period of fishing as the new year kicks in with a booked out schedule over the last couple weeks on a number of different locations.
Genrally this time of year will produce a big variety of fish and this shows by the photos of clients getting into everything from Snapper, Flathead and Trevally to Bass and Tilapia.
Fishing this time of year is tricky as it changes daily due to changing weather patterns, big tide, moon phases and the high water temps so the key is timing as the bite times are very short but when they bite its pretty full on and crazy.
The Snapper run in the Gold Coast Seaway continues and this will only get better in the coming months as February to April is prime time for them but you will also encounter other species out their such as Morwong Spangled Emperor, Flathead and a variety of other reef fish on soft plastics.
The Trevally run has been nuts with some charters getting into over 12 per charter on a variety of lure techniques, the canals have been slow due to the high water temps and big tides but this will change in the coming weeks and months.
All our charters are purely lure fishing/ cast and retrieve only as we use a variety of lure techniques such as soft plastics, surface lures, hard body & Cranka Crabs.
